男，57岁，浙江大学外语学院英语教授，曾任教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会秘书长、委员，浙江大学外语学院党委副书记，现任浙江大学人文学部中国文化传播中心主任。在高等教育出版社、浙江大学出版社、外语教学与研究出版社、上海外语教育出版社、上海译文出版社等出版英语教材、教辅、词典合计100余本。在国内外学术期刊如现代外语、外语界、学位与研究生教育、Polyglossia等发表论文103余篇。
